Therapeutic Approach

Netanya approaches therapy from a trauma-informed lens, meeting people exactly where they are and walking beside them wherever their journey leads. She draws on body-mind connected work and evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based therapies such as MBCT and ACT. Rather than only talking about symptoms, she invites you to feel into what’s beneath the surface—emotions, bodily sensations, patterns—and gently guides toward insight, self-compassion, and renewed connection with yourself.

Areas of Focus

Netanya supports adults working through a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Trauma and PTSD — processing painful experiences and rebuilding a sense of safety and self-trust
  • Grief and loss — finding meaning, connection, and hope after loss
  • Addiction and recovery — cultivating awareness, balance, and self-compassion in the healing process
  • Eating disorders and body image — fostering acceptance, body neutrality, and a kinder relationship with self
  • Anxiety and depression — helping partners strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and understand each other’s needs
  • Identity and self-acceptance — exploring who you are and strengthening your sense of self-worth

Her practice is inclusive and welcoming to all adults—men, women, and non-binary individuals of every race, culture, and faith. Netanya believes healing looks different for everyone and approaches each person’s story with curiosity, compassion, and respect.

Who She Works Best With

Netanya works best with adults who are open to exploring their inner world with curiosity and courage. Her ideal client might be someone who feels stuck in old patterns, disconnected from themselves, or ready to understand how past experiences continue to shape their present. She’s a good fit for individuals seeking gentle, trauma-informed support as they move toward healing, self-acceptance, and balance.

Netanya’s approach is especially supportive for those who value a calm, steady presence and a safe space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with their sense of self.

Professional & Personal Story

Netanya’s work is shaped by both her personal and professional experiences. Having walked through seasons of grief and loss, body-image challenges, and healing as a survivor of abuse, she brings authentic empathy to her work. Professionally, she has supported individuals dealing with addiction, trauma, anxiety and depression—which reinforces her belief in the resilience of the human spirit and the power of trauma-informed care.

Outside of her role as a therapist, Netanya finds joy and renewal in outdoor adventures and creative expression. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and surfing—from Kamloops to Tofino and beyond. She delights in quiet moments lost in a good book, exploring watercolor painting, and grounding in yoga and meditation. Life’s journey unfolds alongside her husband and their small, elderly dog who bring laughter and warmth to everyday.
